These Terms of Service (the "Terms") set forth the conditions for using the iOS app "Read Later" (Japanese name: あとで読む; hereinafter the "App") provided by the operator of "Read Later" (hereinafter "we", "us" or "our"). By using the App, you are deemed to have agreed to these Terms.
Note on language: This English version is provided for reference. The Japanese version of these Terms is the authoritative text. In case of any discrepancy between the Japanese and English versions, the Japanese version shall prevail.
Article 1 (Application)
These Terms apply to all relationships concerning the use of the App.
Any individual rules, notices, or similar content that we may post within the App from time to time form a part of these Terms.
If the contents of these Terms differ from those of any individual rules, the individual rules shall take precedence unless otherwise specified.
Article 2 (Description of the App)
The App provides a feature that saves URLs and text designated by the user as a "read later" list on the device, and generates titles and summaries using Apple's Foundation Models (on-device AI).
The App includes a Share Extension for saving content to the App from the share menu of Safari and other apps.
Use of the App requires a device running iOS 26.2 or later. The AI summary feature operates only on devices that support Apple Intelligence.
Article 3 (Fees)
The basic features of the App are available free of charge.
Additional features such as premium themes and ad removal are provided as the auto-renewing subscription "Pro plan" (the "Subscription"). The contents, prices, renewal conditions, and cancellation procedures of the Subscription are set forth in Article 4.
Article 4 (Auto-Renewing Subscription)

Benefits: Use of premium themes; removal of in-app ads.
Price: As displayed on the in-app paywall screen. Prices are shown according to the region and currency settings of the Apple App Store.
Billing timing: Billing is charged immediately upon purchase confirmation to the payment method linked to the user's Apple Account (Apple ID).
Auto-renewal: Unless auto-renewal is canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, the Subscription will automatically renew at the same plan and amount.
Cancellation: To cancel auto-renewal, go to "Settings > Apple Account > Subscriptions" in iOS or to the subscription management screen of the App Store, and cancel at least 24 hours before the next renewal date.

Refunds: All refunds are governed by Apple's policies. We are unable to issue refunds. Refund requests must be submitted to Apple at https://reportaproblem.apple.com/.
Free trial: If a free trial is offered, the Subscription will automatically convert to a paid plan unless canceled before the end of the trial period.
EULA: The Subscription is subject to Apple's standard end-user license agreement (https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/).
Restoration: When changing devices or reinstalling the App, you can restore your purchase history using the "Restore Purchases" button on the paywall screen.
Article 5 (Display of Advertisements)
The App may display banner advertisements provided by Google AdMob to users who are not subscribed to the Pro plan.
The products and services advertised are provided under the responsibility of the advertiser, and we assume no responsibility for the content of such advertisements.
For matters relating to App Tracking Transparency, please refer to the separate Privacy Policy.
Article 6 (User Responsibilities)
The user shall use the App at the user's own risk.
The user is solely responsible for the URLs and text content saved through the App, the content of generated summaries, and any use thereof.
The user is responsible for complying with the terms of service, copyright, robots.txt, and similar requirements of the web pages they choose to save.
Article 7 (Prohibited Acts)
When using the App, users must not engage in any of the following acts:
Acts that violate laws or public order and morals;
Acts related to criminal activity;
Acts that infringe the intellectual property rights, privacy, reputation, or other rights or interests of us, other users of the App, or third parties;
Acts that place an excessive load on, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to, the App's server functions or third-party services (Firebase, AdMob, Apple's services, etc.);
Decompiling or reverse engineering the App's code (except as permitted by law);
Acts of impersonating a third party;
Acts that attempt to obtain advertising revenue or subscription benefits through fraudulent means;
Other acts that we deem inappropriate.
Article 8 (Intellectual Property Rights)
All intellectual property rights related to the App and to the text, images, source code, designs, logos, and other content contained in the App belong to us or to the rights holders who have licensed them to us.
The license to use the App granted under these Terms does not constitute a license to use any of our intellectual property rights related to the App.
Article 9 (Content Generated by On-Device AI)
The App's AI summary feature operates on the user's device using Apple's Foundation Models. The summaries generated are the result of inference by a machine learning model and do not guarantee accuracy, timeliness, or fitness for any particular purpose.
Before using a generated summary as a basis for business decisions or as an authoritative source, the user is responsible for verifying the original source.
Article 10 (Suspension or Termination of Service)
We may suspend or interrupt all or part of the App without prior notice to users in any of the following cases:
When carrying out maintenance, inspection, or updates of the App;
When the provision of the App becomes difficult due to force majeure such as earthquakes, lightning strikes, fires, power outages, or natural disasters;
When computers or communication lines have stopped due to an accident;
When the third-party services used by the App (Firebase, AdMob, Apple's services, etc.) have been suspended;
In any other case where we determine that the provision of the App is difficult.
We may discontinue providing the App. The handling of subscriptions in such cases shall follow Apple's policies.
Article 11 (Disclaimer)
We do not warrant the content, functions, security, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement of third-party rights, freedom from errors or bugs, or continuous availability of the App.
Except in cases of willful misconduct or gross negligence on our part, we assume no liability for any damages incurred by the user or any third party arising from the use of, or inability to use, the App.
We assume no responsibility for the contents of web pages saved or fetched through the App, the contents of advertisements displayed, or the contents of summaries generated by the AI.
Any disputes arising between a user and other users or third parties shall be resolved by the user at the user's own responsibility, and we shall not be involved.
Article 12 (Handling of Data)
Data saved through the App by the user (URLs, body text, summaries, etc.) is stored on the user's device. For details, please refer to the Privacy Policy.
If the user uninstalls the App, or if the OS clears the App Group container, the data within the App will be lost. We assume no responsibility for any damages resulting from this.
The user is responsible for backing up their own data.
Article 13 (Changes to These Terms)
We may change these Terms when we deem it necessary, without notice to users.
The amended Terms shall take effect at the time they are posted within the App or on our support page.
If the user continues to use the App after the Terms have been changed, the user shall be deemed to have agreed to the amended Terms.
Article 14 (Governing Law and Jurisdiction)
These Terms shall be construed in accordance with the laws of Japan.
In the event of any dispute arising in relation to the App, the court having jurisdiction over our location shall be the exclusive court of first instance by agreement.
